Greetings Swimmers and Parents,

Happy new year! We hope everyone is rested and ready to tackle 2nd semester and the rest of swim season. Thanks to all who attended practice over the break. We have a busy month ahead!

Sign up for pasta dinner at the Stiers home this Friday (1/9) and for the swim meet vs Northview this Saturday (1/10). This is the last chance to make a county time before the county meet on 1/15! We will be recognizing our seniors prior to the start of the meet. See below for more details.

Don’t forget! We are hosting an exciting fundraiser for the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship game on January 19, 2026! We are selling squares on an online 10x10 gameboard grid. Each athlete is being asked to sell at least 3 squares by January 18. There will be a gift card incentive for the first athlete to sell 4 squares, and for the athlete that sells the most squares. See the email sent on January 3 or below for more details.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Meet Attendance: If you signed up to participate in a meet, attend the meet. The team pays entry fees per athlete participating per meet. In addition, the relay teams will have to be reworked last minute and that has ripple effects to the other scheduled relay teams and may leave teammates without a relay to swim. If you are unexpectedly ill, contact Coach Salazar as soon as possible at [email protected].
  • Bus travel on meet days: On swim meet days, the expectation is that all athletes will ride the bus to and from the swim meet. If a parent wants to drive their child, while discouraged, they may submit a written request at least 24 hours prior to the event to Coach Salazar at [email protected].
  • Attire on meet days: Athletes should wear their team t-shirts and warm-ups on meet days, along with their team swimsuit or plain black swimsuit and CHS swim cap. Take a filled water bottle to the meet!

CENTENNIAL vs NORTHVIEW MEET (Saturday, January 10)

  • Last chance to qualify for the county meet! Sign up by Tuesday, January 6!
  • Bus departs from Centennial: 3:30pm
  • Senior Recognition Ceremony: 4:15pm
  • Meet start time: Following Centennial & Northview senior recognitions
  • Location: Dynamo, 5075 Abbotts Bridge Road, Alpharetta, GA 30097
  • Detailed Schedule
    • 3:30pm Bus departs Centennial with team
    • 4:00pm Parents of seniors arrive so we are ready to start the senior recognition ceremony at 4:15pm
    • 4:15pm CHS Senior Recognition Ceremony – senior parents will be escorting their senior down the stairs as their name and info is announced. Our 5 seniors will then swim a lap for their senior swim as the team and spectator families cheer them on.
    • 4:30pm Northview Senior Recognition Ceremony
    • Meet starts directly following the conclusion of senior recognition

2026 FULTON COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP MEET (Thursday, January 15)

  • Swimmers must meet qualifying times to participate in the Fulton County Championship Meet
  • Go to SwimTopia, click on the green ‘MEET ENTRY’ button, and look for Session 2 (there are 2 sessions - session 1 is for Diving, session 2 is for Swimming). You will only be allowed to sign up if you have a qualifying time in an event.
  • Bus departs from Centennial: 2:45pm
  • Warm-ups start time: 3:45pm
  • Meet start time: 4:40pm
  • Location: West Gwinnett Park & Aquatic Center, 4488 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Norcross, GA 30071
  • Timing volunteers needed - 2 for the 1st half and 2 for the 2nd half of the meet
    • Shift 1: meeting at 4:00pm, timing from 4:30pm- 6:30pm
    • Shift 2: meeting at 6:00pm, timing from 6:30pm-8:30pm
  • Note, a spectator fee of $15 will be charged at this meet

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FUNDRAISER

  • We are hosting a fundraiser during the College Football Playoff National Championship game on January 19, 2026!
  • Squares can be purchased on a 10x10 grid gameboard at $25 per square
  • Axis numbers will be randomly auto generated once the board is filled
  • Each athlete is being asked to sell at least 3 squares by January 18
  • Cash prizes will be paid out to gameboard winners at the end of each quarter (Q1 - $100, Q2 - $100, Q3 - $100, Q4 - $500)
  • There are gift card incentives for the first athlete to sell 4 squares, and for the athlete that sells the most squares
  • Refer to the email sent on January 3 for text that you can copy and paste to send to your friends and family, and for examples of how the squares work
