CHS Swim + Dive Weekly Newsletter 10-13-2025

Greetings Team and Parents,

Our first “meet” is coming up on Saturday, October 25! It will be the Black & Blue Time Trial meet. In a time trial meet, swimmers usually swim most events so they can establish baseline times. Coaches Salazar and Almstedt will enter the athletes in the events they feel are appropriate. If you plan on coming to watch, bring a folding chair. Space will be limited.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

  • Practice Location: Swim Atlanta (SWAT), 795 Old Roswell Road, Roswell
  • Practice Time: Monday – Thursday, 7:45pm – 9:00pm
  • Fulton County Fall Break Week
    • Monday – Thursday, 12:45pm – 2:00pm, at SWAT Roswell
    • Please attend if you are in town

BLACK & BLUE TIME TRIALS (Saturday, October 25)

  • Start Time: 3:00pm
  • Location: Swim Atlanta, 795 Old Roswell Road

  • In a time trial meet, swimmers usually swim most events so they can establish baseline times. These times will be used to enter swimmers into events for our regular season meets. Times are updated throughout the season.

FINS, PARKAS, SPIRIT WEAR

  • If your swimmer still needs to borrow fins or a parka for the season, let me know to make arrangements for pick-up.
    • Please note, parkas require a $100 check as a deposit. The check will be returned at the end of the season when the parkas are returned. The $100 deposit check should be made out to CHS Swim & Dive.
  • Team t-shirts, swim caps and warm-up uniforms will be distributed as soon as they come in!

RECOMMENDED SUPPLIES

  • Black swimsuit: This is a must have for swim meets. You can order one with the school logo through our vendor or buy a plain black suit.
  • Fins: These are needed at every practice. You can borrow a set from the team (see above) or buy your own (https://amzn.to/48zEQ5I)
  • Goggles: Get at least two good pairs that do not leak (https://amzn.to/4nKKXIH)
  • Parka: This is optional. You can borrow one from the team (see above).
  • Mesh bag: These are great for wet stuff like caps, fins and goggles (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mesh+swim+bag+large&crid=6R8R8VFA9P51&ref=nb_sb_ss_shopnav-of-top-p13n-behavior-based-strategy_1)
  • Water bottle: Stay hydrated for practices and meets!
