Welcome to the 2022-23 Swim and Dive Season! Thank you for joining the team! We are excited to kick off the season!

Each week, we will send out a bulletin with important dates and information. This first bulletin is full of very important information - it is long, but please read through. If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Swim Team Board.

** IMPORTANT: Athletes MUST RSVP to be included in the line-up. Meet entry will typically close 4 days before the meet at 5pm. Please do not wait until the last minute to RSVP. If you RSVP yes, please be considerate of your teammates and show up or contact Coach Kevin as far in advance as possible to let him know your change of plans. No shows often mean a relay must be cancelled, resulting in less swims for your teammates and fewer opportunities for points for your team. **

2022-23 SWIM PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Practices started Thursday October 12 at Swim Atlanta Roswell, 795 Old Roswell Rd., Roswell, 30076. Year round swimmers do not need to attend.

Practice times: 8 pm - 9 pm, Monday through Friday

** No practice Friday, October 28 and Monday, October 31 **

** NOTE ** All athletes must upload their physical to Dragonfly before they can swim.

BLACK & BLUE TIME TRIALS (Saturday, October 29th) (SWIM ONLY)

Calling all ghouls and goblins! Our Black & Blue Meet (Time Trials) will have a Halloween theme! Swimmers are encouraged to dress up! Please make sure your swimmer has marked availability in Swimtopia by Tuesday, October 25 at 5 pm!

NOTE: There will be NO bus for this meet. Swimmers are responsible for their own transportation.

1ST TEAM PASTA PARTY (Friday, November 4th)

Pasta Parties are a swim/dive tradition on Friday nights before our weekend meets. Please check the calendar on Swimtopia for dates and locations and to sign up to bring food.

Our first Pasta Party will actually be a Pizza Party Tailgate before the Centennial home football game. Be on the lookout for more details in next week’s bulletin!

McCALLIE INVITATIONAL (Friday November 18-Saturday November 19), Chattanooga, Tennessee

McCallie is back on!! After a 3 year hiatus due to Covid restrictions, we are able to travel to McCallie for this optional, fun, team-bonding meet. Open to all swimmers and divers. Cost is $200 which includes travel expenses, hotel, and most food. Please register on Picklejuice ASAP if your athlete plans to attend. If you registered for McCallie in your initial registration, you do not need to re-register for it. Payment is due by November 1.

The team leaves during the school day on Friday and arrives home late night Saturday. Please note this is the weekend before Thanksgiving, and Fulton County Schools has the entire week off, so please keep this in mind when deciding whether or not to register.

Please take some time to check out Swimtopia. You will find meet sign up information, meet results, and time standards here. In addition, we use Swimtopia to sign up for volunteer opportunities at meets and food donations. Archived newsletters can be found here as well!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Reminder: Please pay all fees through Picklejuice and OSP if you have not done so already!

SPIRIT WEAR/SWIM GEAR INFO & DELIVERY

Team Suits: Have all the new swimmers/divers ordered the team suit? Have all the returning athletes found their team suit from last year? New swimmers are required to buy and wear the team swimsuit. Wear these suits to meets only. Please do not practice in the team suit. The suits stretch out quickly and wear out quickly if worn for practice AND the meets. If the returning athletes find that their team suit is in bad shape, then it is time to order a new one, as well! There is a bit of urgency, as the suits need to be embroidered, so please get these fitted ASAP.

The vendor, All-American, supplies our suits. Athletes requiring suits who need fittings will need to visit the All-American store. Check store hours before going!

Nancy delivered fins and parkas to practices last week. If you still need fins or a parka, the last chance to pick up will be at the Black and Blue Meet on October 29th. Fins are to be returned at the end of the season or there will be a $20 replacement fee. If your swimmer signed up to use a CHS swim parka, please bring a $100 check (for deposit) at pick up. The deposit will be returned, once the parka is cleaned and returned, at the end of the season.

Warm Ups will be delivered at the Black and Blue Meet on Saturday, October 29.

Team shirts, caps, and spirit wear orders deliveries TBD. If we have received the shipment, we will distribute at the Black and Blue Meet!
