Congratulations to our State Meet Dive & Swim Team. Good luck to all our athletes this weekend.

Important Dates:

February 5^th , - Signing Day ceremony 10:20-11:30 am for Katharine Ward

February 6-8^th – GHSA State Swim & Dive Meet

February 20^th – Swim & Dive Awards Banquet – LAST day to register is Friday, February 7^th.

Signing Day – Swimmers & Divers:

Centennial’s Signing Day ceremony is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5th during 3-4^rd period (10:20-11:30am) in the CHS Auditorium.

All students are able to go (with teacher permission) to watch and cheer on our own Katharine Ward as she officially signs to further her academic and swimming career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! GO HEELS!

State meet info:

Thursday, 6 (Diving Prelims & Finals)

Warm-ups: 1:00 pm

Competition: 3:00 pm

All changes to State meet dive sheets must be made by Wednesday, Feb 5 at 4:00 pm

We will not be able to take a bus to the dive meet. Parking around the CRC is available. Please see the link below to see available lots and to obtain parking passes. We encourage as much carpooling as you can. Please meet Coach Jacobi at the back door to the CRC on Tech Parkway at 12:45 to get checked in.

Friday, 2/7 (Swimming Prelims)

Bus departs: 2:00 pm (Coach Jacobi will confirm departure time.)

Warm-ups: 4:10 pm-5:50 pm

Competition: 6:00 pm-9:30 pm

The earliest spectator doors open is 4:00 pm.

Athletes: Team snacks will be provided. If there is something different that your athlete prefers to eat, or you think they may need a ‘dinner’, send that along with them. They might also want to bring along some cash. There are some vending machines and there is a small café in the building, but we haven’t been able to verify if it will be open or not.

Saturday, 2/8 (Swimming Finals)

Bus departs: 1:00 pm (Coach Jacobi will confirm departure time.)

Warm-ups: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm

Competition: 5:30 pm-9:30 pm

Divers will be excused from classes on Thursday, Swimmers will be excused from classes on Friday. In an effort to minimize the loss of instructional time, we will not be excusing absences for days on which the athletes are not competing.

We want to encourage the Divers to attend the meet on Saturday so that we can cheer on the team and all see the final results together.

Parents and other team members who would like to come and spectate, please be aware that there is a fee to enter the meet which is $15, as well as a fee to park this year. Please use the link below to purchase advance parking if you aren’t the type to “risk it for the biscuit” on the day of the meet.
